Microbial Technologies staff have advised on, and designed sewage treatment systems ranging from simple septic tanks to highly advanced nutrient removal systems.

Microbial Technologies supervised the selection, installation, and commissioning of a small sewage works at the Heart of the Creek commercial development, Roberts Creek, B.C., Canada. We recommended a number of modifications to the system proposed initially, significantly reducing its cost and improving its subsequent operation. Since startup, our continued help with troubleshooting has ensured a virtual problem-free operation.

In 2002, Microbial Technologies designed a constructed wetland to treat sewage from the municipality of Union Bay, B.C., Canada. This design incorporated several innovative elements of the Waste-to-Wealth concept requested by Union Bay, while keeping close attention to concept application and costs. Our flexibility and experience was particularly valued by other members of the design team, which included landscape architects, fisheries biologists, planners, and others.
