First Nations and Microbial Technologies

For many First Nations communities, development and economic autonomy are mutually inclusive. However, such aspirations often face many issues and impacts from previous activities. Microbial Technologies recognises the significance and value of First Nations traditional knowledge and skills in planning and pursuing project developments. Our experience allows us to embrace a solutions focused approach reflecting both sound science while embracing such traditional knowledge.

As a small company we have sought a wide variety of contracts both for industry and government, reflecting private and public interests. This has enabled us to develop a strong concept of independence in our commitment to operating with integrity and respect while honouring our contracts.

Our experience with First Nations enables us to appreciate the issues of economic development and the environment. We offer services for environmental planning and Impact Assessment, in addition to technical and scientific support to communities. Microbial Technologies recognises the invaluable knowledge that First Nations communities possess and endeavour to work collaboratively with First Nations communities, incorporating capacity building at every opportunity to build strong communities with sound economic and environmental roots.
